AIAS PRESS RELEASE: 21 FEB 2012
The Anglo-Israel Archaeological Society is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr David Milson as editor of the Society’s journal – Strata, previously known as the Bulletin of the AIAS – from 21 Feb 2012.
After working for several years as a field archaeologist with the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA), Dr Milson received his doctorate from Merton College, Oxford, in 2002. His publications include a number of scientific articles, and his book, The Art and Architecture of the Synagogue in Late Antique Palestine: In the Shadow of the Church (Leiden, Brill), appeared in 2007. His experience on numerous excavations includes working as a surveyor at the City of David in Jerusalem and at Tell Dan.
The Society would like to express thanks and appreciation to Dr Joan Taylor (King’s College, London) for her outstanding contribution as editor of the journal for the last five years.
